Metro McAllen operates 7 bus routes in McAllen from Monday to Saturday.

Citizens can see the outline of each route by logging onto McAllen 311 app, download the McAllen 311 app at http://www.mcallen.net/mcallen311.  The app has a Metro icon where you can access more information. Route maps are also available at the bus Central Station, all Community Centers, the Chamber of Commerce and McAllen City Hall. Metro McAllen can even provide route outlines via mail, if requested.

Each route takes about 50 minutes before starting over again.

Bus tickets are $1 for adults and $.50 for those who have reached age 60, children under age seven, people with disabilities, Medicare recipients and students with an I.D.

Transfers are free and are available to those boarding from a bus stop.  Redeem the transfer at the bus station within one hour.

Available Routes

All routes leave the downtown Central Station every hour on the hour.

Hours of operation are Monday – Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.


Routes 1, 2, 4, 6 and paratransit

Monday  through Saturday 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Sunday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Paratransit is curb-to-curb service for disabled persons who qualify under Metro McAllen’s certification process.  The certification process requires a physician’s approval.  Several of Metro McAllen’s buses have access for wheelchairs.
