All dogs and cats more than three (3) months old are required to have a rabies vaccination from your veterinarian and a City pet license. Anyone bringing a dog or cat into the City has 30 days to purchase a city pet license if they intend to keep the animal in the City for more than 30 days.

City pet license tags may be purchased at the City Collector's office at 2100 Ridge Avenue, the Animal Control office at 2310 Oakton Street or by mail.

The following documentation and fees are required to obtain a pet license:
completed Animal Registration Form, proof of current rabies vaccination from your veterinarian, statement from your veterinarian that the animal has been spayed or neutered if you want to purchase the license at a reduced rate, and the appropriate fee (each pet license tag is $15.00 for an un-spayed or un-neutered animal, if proof is presented showing the animal is spayed or neutered the fee is $10.00.)
