A "TIF District" is a "tax increment financing district." A TIF District is an economic development tool utilized to capture tax dollars to fund economic development and physical improvement activities within a defined area. The tool is designed to assist financially desirable development and improvements that would not be feasible if it were not for the financial assistance.
