Evanston IL:I received a notice in the mail that I received a citation. How come this is my first notice of receiving a citation? If I would have received the citation, I would have paid it.

A citation was issued. The citation may have blown off your car or someone could have taken the citation off of your car and placed it on their car to avoid receiving a citation. We send the notices to appear at an in-person hearing because there has been no response in relation to the citation. We understand there are times that the citation may not reach you and send the notice to offer you the same opportunity to contest the citation as you would have if you received the citation initially.
