Evanston IL:I live in Evanston and want to have chickens. Is this permitted?

Yes. According to the City Code, Title 9 Public Safety, Chapter 4 Dogs, Cats, Animals and Fowl, Evanston residents may keep no fewer than 2 or more than 6 hens.  The Code also lays out chicken-related Health and Sanitation ordinances in Title 8 and Zoning requirements in Title 6.
