The Forestry department will pick up, repair, or remove if necessary any city tree that has suffered damage due to storms or traffic accidents.
Call the 311 Center at 311 or 847-448-4311 so that a Service Request is entered with the type of damage that needs to be addressed, the part of the tree that needs to be inspected or repaired, the location of the tree or limb that was damaged, and any right of way that is blocked (such as sidewalk, street, or alley).
If the tree damage was from a private property tree, the city will only clear the public right of way or abate an immediate public hazard. The right of way will be cleared and the debris will be left on the property for the owner. For private property tree work please call a local tree service for assistance.
